The storm [hurricane Irene] took place on Aug. 27, 2011, with high winds & heavy rain throughout the day. Around 4 p.m. we heard a loud crash outside . The power went out, but within a few seconds we heard the Generac generator start and power was restored. A tree had crushed the generator but it was still running. We called Mr Schiess, and he came right over in the middle of the storm, He did a quick diagnostics on it and told us it was OK, just damaged to rain enclosure shell.The power came back on 7 days later and the generator went back to stand-by mode. I could not believe the damage the generator had experienced and still ran. The generator has been 100% reliable for over 168 hours throughout the storm and never let us down. Of course Mr Schiess took care of getting us a replacement rain enclosure , did a more in depth diagnostics check & even cleaned out the storm debris .I would recommend Mr Schiess for all your Generac needs !

If you are looking for a Generator , look no further. I found west end generators online , I was a little uneasy at first , there are so many company's installing Generac's automatic standby generators, contractors from Charlottesville & Northern Virginia with Richmond phone numbers, Big box home improvement warehouse's & even the Power company with 3rd party contractors , it can all get so confusing & expensive. Joe and his brothers did a superb job & cleaned up too.
